Help Los Cabos Humane Society rebuild its hurricane ravaged roof.
In September 2014, Hurricane Odile ravaged the region of Mexico known as Baja California, dealing significant damage to Los Cabos Humane society, including the complete destruction of its roof. Thanks to donors like you, the shelter was able to rebuild much of its original structure, but there is still a grave need for a roof. Currently the dogs are exposed to the elements and are only protected by a makeshift roof made out of left over debris. While this temporary roof suffices for now, Cabo is nearing the rainy season, when a new roof will definitely be needed.
Strong winds, rain, and harsh summer sun are extremely hard on animals living in Los Cabos. A properly constructed roof will protect the animals from the harsh weather and allow the shelter to keep their current animals healthy while bringing in more dogs off the street and into safety. Los Cabos Humane Society needs $15,000 to rebuild the roof.
You can help. Just $5 helps us meet our goal to protect the animals of Los Cabos Humane Society.
The Los Cabos Humane Society works with local residents and foreign aid workers to provide a safe and humane environment for stray and diseased animals within the community. Many of these animals have been abandoned by their families and roam the streets in search of a home. The goals of Los Cabos Humane Society are to get these animals off the streets, into safe homes, and provide sanitary neighborhoods where people feel more comfortable without the encountering large packs of dogs.
