Help build a new roof for an aviary in need!
The Oasis Sanctuary provides a safe haven for exotic birds in need, providing them with a permanent home where they can live the remainder of their days in a flock community of their own species. These beautiful birds, formerly pets or breeders have come to The Oasis Sanctuary as their final home. The reasons are many, including unexpected changes in the home, health issues that were too expensive, foundlings who were never reunited and simply those who were no longer wanted.
The flight aviaries provide enrichment and protection from the weather and elements from the climate. The small bird aviary that is 20x40 and adjoining ringneck aviary 20x10 is the first aviary built at the sanctuary in 2002. The condition of the roof has deteriorated due to harsh outdoor elements over the last 14 years and is in urgent need of replacement. The aviary roof is critical for shade, safety and protective cover from weather and predators for these small, vulnerable birds. The project will replace old roofing material, all wood supports, re-framing, installing new rafters, recovering with hardware cloth, installation of gutters and 20 large skylights.
You can help. Just $5 goes towards building a new roof for the aviary.
The Oasis Sanctuary provides a permanent, caring home to birds that are unsuitable for placement in conventional homes due to debilitating mental, physical, and non-communicable disease issues. They also educate the public to care properly for their pets.
