This classic flour sack dish towel is beautifully screen-printed by the women refugees and immigrants who live in the International District of Albuquerque. Vibrant with culture, it is nonetheless one of Albuquerque's pockets of poverty. Kei and Molly who started the women's group approximately seven years ago are committed to creating good jobs in this area, and work with refugee resettlement programs to find many of their employees. They provide on-the-job training, health and education benefits, and flexible hours. This cotton flour sack dish towel makes a wonderful hostess gift to brighten up any kitchen!
Kei and Molly's printing studio is the heart of their business, and serves as their center for production. They often open up the studio for workshops for the greater community and for sales with other artisans. They believe in sharing their skills while helping to re-vitalize the area's economy.
